through shelter,
we empower
Thanks to your incredible support, we have welcomed a Habitat Partner Family to the Everett Bayside Home!
This winter, we gathered to celebrate the dedication of the Bayside Home for the Alvarado family. Surrounded by friends, volunteers, and supporters, the event was a heartwarming reminder of the incredible power of community. The Alvarados’ homeownership journey has been one of hope and perseverance, and it is with great joy that we join them in celebrating this accomplishment.

Reflecting Jimmy Carter’s extraordinary life, we recall his words: “My faith demands that I do whatever I can, wherever I can, whenever I can, for as long as I can with whatever I have to try to make a difference.” His legacy will endure for generations.
We encourage our community to read this feature of President Carter in the Habitat International Magazine.

Our Challenge
Affordable Housing Is No Longer a Reality
Since 2005, homeownership has decreased by 9.3% in Snohomish County
Snohomish County renters need to earn 2.5 times minimum wage to afford the average asking rent
1 out of 3 students in Snohomish County school districts experienced homelessness or was unhoused, and/or fell under “low income”.

Our Solution
Habitat Homeownership
Through our Homeownership Program, qualified homebuyers partner with Habitat and the community to help build their own houses by putting in sweat equity and purchasing their homes with an affordable mortgage.
Home Repair Service
Through critical roof replacements, exterior weatherization, accessibility ramp builds, and more, we serve our community’s at-risk homeowners. We believe that keeping a homeowner in their existing affordable home is just as important as creating a new one.
Habitat Stores
Our non-profit Habitat Stores work to provide low-cost, high-quality building and home improvement materials to the community. All proceeds from our stores go directly back to funding our mission of providing homes, community, and hope.

“Now it’s easy for me to get Fiona outside. She loves going to new places. I get emotional thinking about how much of a game changer it’s going to be for our family.” - Eric Werner
