We build strength, stability and self-reliance through shelter.

Habitat for Humanity of Snohomish County strives to eliminate substandard housing and end the cycle of poverty by partnering with homeowners to build, repair, and preserve decent and affordable homes in our neighborhoods.

With support from the community, we help people achieve the strength, stability, and independence they need to build a better life for themselves and their families.

  • Donate

Your generous donation will create strength, stability and self-reliance for low-income families in Snohomish County. Together with businesses, civic groups, faith organizations, volunteers, and the community, you can help us create a world where everyone has a decent place to live.

  • Volunteer

  • Shop

Our Challenge

Affordable Housing Is No Longer a Reality

  • Since 2005, homeownership has decreased by 9.3% in Snohomish County

  • Snohomish County renters need to earn 2.5 times minimum wage to afford the average asking rent

  • 1 out of 3 students in Snohomish County school districts experienced homelessness or was unhoused, and/or fell under “low income”.

Our Solution

New Construction

Habitat homeowners help build their own homes alongside volunteers and pay an affordable mortgage. Through community support, families achieve strength, stability and self-reliance.

Home Repair Service

Through critical roof replacements, exterior weatherization, accessibility ramp builds, and more, we serve our community’s at-risk homeowners. We believe that keeping a homeowner in their existing affordable home is just as important as creating a new one.

Habitat Stores

Our non-profit Habitat Stores work to provide low-cost, high-quality building and home improvement materials to the community. All proceeds from our stores go directly back to funding our mission of providing homes, community, and hope.

Bayside Home Build

About the build:

Construction activities at our Bayside Home project are running at full speed! We are deeply grateful to Amor Roofing and GAF Roofing for generously donating all materials and labor for the roof install.
As this home takes shape, we’d like to reflect on how far we’ve come, and on the countless hours of work that our volunteers have contributed. We couldn’t do it without them.

About the Family:

Ivan and Eli Alvarado had been saving for years towards a down payment to purchase their first house until a recent spinal injury and surgery limited Eli’s ability to work, derailing their dream of owning a home. While recovering from surgery, Eli regularly carried her youngest child up four flights of stairs, often wet from rain, to their upper-floor apartment. Through contributions from our Habitat community, the Alvarado Family will have an opportunity to purchase their own affordable single-level home where Ivan and Eli can build their future and their three young children can freely play.
