Woman of Habitat for Humanity repairing a roof

Home Repair Service

Through critical roof replacements, exterior weatherization, accessibility ramp builds, and more, we serve our community’s at-risk homeowners. We believe that keeping a homeowner in their existing affordable home is just as important as creating a new one.

Bayside Home Build

About the build:

The Bayside Home is currently a 600 sq. ft., 1-bedroom, 1-bathroom dwelling. Constructed over 108 years ago, it is now in need of extensive structural and cosmetic repairs.

The home is currently undergoing a redesign to create a safer and more accessible living space. Upon completion, the home will be double the original square footage, thanks to the addition of two bedrooms and a bathroom.

Construction is projected to be finished by the spring of 2024.

About the Family:

Ivan and Eli Alvarado had been saving for years towards a down payment to purchase their first house until a recent spinal injury and surgery limited Eli’s ability to work, derailing their dream of owning a home. While recovering from surgery, Eli regularly carried her youngest child up four flights of stairs, often wet from rain, to their upper-floor apartment. Through contributions from our Habitat community, the Alvarado Family will have an opportunity to purchase their own affordable single-level home where Ivan and Eli can build their future and their three young children can freely play.
